Many Americans believe that US President Joe Biden is badly managing inflation. This does not bode well for the Democrat and his party with the November elections just around the corner.

Despite a positive jobs report, many Americans still feel inflation is the bigger deal.

CBS News/YouGov Poll Reports Majority of Americans Feel Biden is Badly Managing Inflation

President Joe Biden (D - Delaware) makes a speech | CBS News/YouGov Poll Reports Majority of Americans Feel Biden is Badly Managing Inflation

CBS News/YouGov Poll conducted a survey between April 5 to 8 among more than 2,000 adult Americans. It reported that despite a strong hiring rate, many Americans are still worried about the current economy.

In fact, 69% of Americans surveyed say that Biden is badly managing inflation leading to a troubled economy.

The survey reported that 56% of Americans find the local job market in good shape versus 29% who described it as bad.

However, the sentiments about the job market are the opposite of what Americans think about the national economy. 63% of respondents say that the economy is bad, while only 31% say it’s good.

Sadly, prices keep getting higher as Biden is badly managing inflation. As a result, two out of the three Americans describe facing high prices as difficult or hardship for them.

It’s the Economy, Stupid!

Still, many Americans acknowledge that jobs increased over the past year. However, not even a positive job market can mask the fact that the government of Joe Biden is badly managing inflation.

86% of respondents attribute inflation as the top reason why the economy is bad. As a result, 50% of Americans say they don’t trust the Biden administration.

As a result, 66% of Americans reported making cutbacks on entertainment or activities. A similar number of Americans are also curtailing plans for trips or travel, whether foreign or domestic.

Meanwhile, 64% are driving less to save on fuel, while 53% slashed their budget on food and groceries.

Majority Agrees that Biden Can Do More

Partisanship plays a role in whether Biden is to blame for high gas prices. Democrats are less likely to carry a negative view of the economy compared to Republicans.

However, 65% of Americans regardless of the party agree that Biden can do more to lower gas prices. Conversely, only 35% of respondents said that Biden is already doing all he can.

Broken down, 39% of Democrats believe Biden can do more. In contrast, 67% of Independents and 93% of Republicans insist the President can do much more.

As a result of the belief that Biden is badly managing inflation as well as the economy, his numbers continue to plummet. From a 62% approval rating in March 2021.

Biden’s numbers are now way down to 42%. In particular, the President scored badly in all four categories. In fact, Americans disapprove of his handling of crime (61%), immigration (62%), the economy (63%), and inflation (69%).

Immigration Also Getting Badly Managed

By and large, the CBS News/YouGov survey reported that only Republicans see Immigration as a high priority matter. 72% of Republicans felt that the government should take immigration more seriously.

In contrast, only 43% of Independents and 36% of Democrats feel the same way.
