Devin Nunes is a Fighter and a Leader
In a statement released Monday, the former president welcomed the new CEO of Trump Media and Technology Group. “Congressman Devin Nunes is a fighter and a leader.
He will make an excellent CEO of TMTG. Devin understands that we must stop the liberal media and Big Tech from destroying the freedoms that make America great.
America is ready for TRUTH Social and the end to censorship and political discrimination,” he wrote.
Incidentally, the San Joaquin Valley Sun previously reported that Nunes has no plans of seeking reelection. The California representative is currently serving his 10th term as Central Valley congressman.
He also served as the chairman of the House Intelligence Committee for four years while Trump was president. He was famous for defending the former President against allegations by Democrats of conspiring with Russia to win the elections.
House Minority Leader Praises Rep. Devin Nunes
Meanwhile, House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) also issued a statement praising Rep. Devin Nunes.
“As the top Republican on the House Intelligence Committee, with the entire weight of the legacy media and Washington establishment bearing down on him, Devin stood by his convictions on behalf of his constituents and hardworking Americans across the country,” he said Monday.
“And every step of the way, Devin was proven right,” McCarthy added. “There is no better person prepared to compete head-to-head and lead an alternative to the big tech and big media cartel that has carried water for the Democrat Party for years than Devin.”
Win Back The House Majority
The 48-year old representative is also a senior member of the House Ways and Means Committee. If the Republicans manage to win back the majority in the midterm elections, Nunes is in the running to lead the tax panel.
Given current sentiments, the GOP is poised to take back Congress from the Democrats.
While Nunes would gain more responsibilities if ever the GOP gets the House, Nunes’ reelection isn’t a surefire bet. The state's independent redistricting commission released draft maps last month that shows his voter base reduced.
Solid Trump Ally Through and Through
There was a time when the California congressman advocated temperance within the Republicans. However, once Trump won the elections, Nunes transformed into one of the Democrats’ most antagonistic foes.
When Nunes isn’t waging war with the other party, he places his attention on his critics. He sued a number of nationally prominent outlets such as Twitter and NBC Universal. Some cases remain pending even as Nunes bids goodbye to his legislative career.
