HOW GUY COHEN TRADES WITH UNCERTAINTY LACED WITH OPPORTUNITY AS EARNINGS LOOMS

Earnings season arrives in three weeks’ time, and all Guy Cohen sees is uncertainty. The outcome of this uncertainty is likely to manifest in volatility — and this is where you should focus your efforts for now.

Of course there are some exceptions – there always are.

But think of trading like black jack … You increase your odds by counting the cards and understanding the correct strategies. That’s like Guy using the OVI and his trading plan.

In blackjack when the cards are against you and the house looks strong, you reduce your bets.

With trading, where we see uncertainty we do likewise. But there is one key difference …

With trading we have more choices. And one of those choices is to understand and play the volatility, especially around earnings. A few stocks look interesting even at this early stage, so today Guy will run through them in his OVI Market Review.

SUPREME COURT ALLOWS PARTIAL ENFORCEMENT OF TRUMP’S TRAVEL BAN

The U.S. Supreme Court allowed President Donald Trump’s administration to implement part of his temporary ban on travelers from six Muslim-majority countries and said Monday it would give full consideration to whether the president’s actions were lawful. The Supreme Court’s action, in a case of unusually high stakes for a new president, is a significant reversal of fortune for Mr. Trump, who had been on the losing end of several lower-court decisions that blocked his March 6 executive order.

FACEBOOK TO ENTER THE TV INDUSTRY; READY TO DROP $3M PER EPISODE ON TV-STYLE SHOWS

Facebook is gearing up to announce its first slate of TV-like shows this summer, and the company could spend up to $3 million an episode, according to The Wall Street Journal, putting spending in the range of marquee cable networks, and tech rivals like Netflix. Facebook has been prepping its push into TV-style programming for quite some time, following YouTube, Netflix, Amazon, and others into the premium streaming market. But Facebook has delayed the effort multiple times already.
