Necker Island, the private island owned by Richard Branson, is located in the British Virgin Islands (north from Virgin Gorda and Prickly Bear). The island itself measures up to 74 acres and is surrounded by crystal blue water.
It costs up to $40,000 per night, but includes many luxurious features and can be a host of many A-list celebrities.

A brief history of Necker Island…

Richard Branson, the owner of Virgin company, purchased the island after making a chance bid of $150,000 (even though the estate was worth over $6 million), which was initially rejected but was later accepted when the previous owner needed short-term capital.

The local government requested that it should be renovated and become a resort, for a 5-year deadline. Otherwise, ownership would revert to the state. This renovation made Mr. Branson committed and determined to fulfill his dream of building a tropical paradise resort.

All these incidents happened back in 1978, and it is now the most popular hotspot for celebrities, politicians, the wealthy and rich business owners.
